Ultra-Specialization is a necessity nowadays. There is only one way to achieve it – Continuous Learning. I have tried multiple online learning platforms like LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, etc. While the former has great courses, the subscription cost is high. The latter requires you pay per course but is a hit-or-miss – you ought to know how to select your course as there are many marketing videos disguised as courses there. Recently, I signed up for a two-month free unlimited learning subscription for an online course repository called SkillShare. So far, I found the courses to be good. They have courses...
The Lean Startup by Eric Reis: Book Review
The Lean Startup by Eric Reis Book Review in a sentence: Create a Minimum Viable Product with the most important functionality in the shortest time possible, and then keep surveying and developing the product based on prospect/customer feedback and requests. Core Idea conveyed in the Book: You may have grand ideas for your business; you may have a lot of Time and Angel money to invest; you may have the best team to develop a quality and feature-rich product. BUT if the customer doesn’t want what you make, your venture will fail. That’s why, the author says, it’s better to...

Creative Photo Animation through Repetition – Letters or Photos?
In the above video, I have created letters using multiple circular=cropped photos. Although they look like letters when looked at from afar, a closer view shows the photo clearly. This is a creative way to animate initials or names using a single photo – via repetition. Some photos may flicker, but I am not able to do much about it. The effect creates so many photos and keeps changing its size, opacity, etc. that it becomes difficult to control what it does to individual photos. Combine these initials/letters with a plain text message at the bottom and it will make...
LTD(s) – Limited Time Deals – Worth it? NO!
If you are in the marketing or creative fields, I guess you’d have come across many LTDs – Limited Time Deals. Products and Services that presumably cost multiples of tens of dollars per month are released for a one time (low) price of $29, $39, $49 USD, or whatever number catches their fancy. The catch? They are available at a low price for a short period – usually a few hours to a few days. As a victim of quite a few of these LTDs, I can give you only one suggestion – DON’T fall for them. Most of these...
Social Beat’s “Design Beat” – Hackathon on Road Safety
I went to participate in Social Beat‘s “Design Beat”, a one-day Hackathon to promote road safety, on Nov. 1, ’19. We were divided into teams of 3-4 and were given a brief on design thinking and our task for the day. We were expected to brainstorm ideas, shortlist one idea and develop a small prototype (physical or digital) and present it before a panel of authorities who have a say on framing public policies here in Chennai, India. Here is the presentation we (Team 10) made on that day: Idea for Road Safety (Presented during Social Beat’s Design Beat Event...

The best part about the above...
Save The Date Video [Wedding/Marriage Invitation Video]
Here is a Wedding/Marriage Invitation Video template that I made. It’s also called Save the Date Video in western countries. This is in the new 2.5D format where I animate 2D objects in 3D space. Nowadays it’s not possible to hand-over or courier physical invitations to everyone as many friends and family members live across the globe. A short virtual wedding/marriage invite video like this could instantly be sent anywhere over email or social media messengers like Facebook and WhatsApp. You can also upload it on your Facebook wall or publish it as an Instagram post. You don’t necessarily have...
Music Video Collage Effects (incl. Dancing Woman Silhouette Effect)
I have created some new Video Collage Visual Effects. You can see them in the below-embedded music videos. These effects can be applied to any video, not just a music video. Before showing you the longer video with twelve collage effects, I want to show you a short video that has my favorite “Dancing Woman Silhouette” effect. Check it out below 🙂 If you find this a somewhat heavy effect or if the action in your video is spread across the screen (unlike just in the center – as in the above video), look at the twelve different video collage...
How to Create Viral Videos (Book Review)
I found the above video ad recorded and released by the author of ‘Fast Cheap & Viral‘ – Aashish Chopra on Instagram and purchased the book almost instantly after reading the blurb. I did another unexpected thing – I finished reading the entire book within a couple of days in spite of the fact that I don’t read books nowadays – I only listen to audiobooks or using text-to-speech. First off, Content Marketing interests me a lot. Second, Content Marketing through Videos that are affordably produced interests me even more. Third, the fact that someone successful in that art decided...
